AppFuse 2.2 Ready for Testing

Hey all,

We've been working hard getting ready for the 2.2 release. I still need to update the tutorials on appfuse.org, but most of the coding has been completed.

I've refreshed all the demos on http://demo.appfuse.org and I think they all look pretty good. It'd be great if you could click through your favorite flavor and see if you find any issues.

Thanks!

Hey,

It looks pretty slick. but there is still that little problem with french accentuated characters. it's solvable once you get the full-source and re-edit the files, but it would be nice if those files were encoded correctly.

Great work as usual, many thanks matt, it looks pretty nice and i think i'll take that 2.2 for a spin right away

Hi Matt,

Really nice. As Imad already posted, I tried weird letters in my name (greek...) and they came back as '?'. Also, the bug with changing the username I posted today is still there.

Thanks for sharing your work with us, it helps a lot.

The strange characters might be caused by the database not being UTF8. I'll look into that.

Can you please enter an issue in JIRA for the username bug.

Thanks,

Matt

that`s true, this encoding problem has been going on for a while. I have always faced that problem but never commented about it.

Can you try demo.appfuse.org again? We've converted it to UTF-8.

there is something weird, it is only the lowercase delta that it does not work. Maybe it is coming from my computer?

same issue with french language. it seems that the problem comes from the expansion of jars after you run appfuse:fullsource. the files in the jar are already corrupt with the wrong encoding

Re: AppFuse 2.2 Ready for Testing

jogaco
The safest way IMO to solve the encoding problem is to save non-ASCII characters as their equivalent unicode escape character, instead of using the native2ascii plugin.

Attached a screenshot is from demo.appfuse.org with bad encoding.

I'm guessing this is because of a configuration change I did for the native2ascii plugin. If i18n messages are wrong, that's likely the issue. If it's a database saving issue, that's likely a db config issue.

Can you try demo.appfuse.org again? We've converted it to UTF-8.

Charles Girardot
Hi,

No sorry, it seems to happen only with this letter so I gave up by lack of time (and my app is only for internal use so it is really a minor point)
